Discover Bridge Acupuncture

I look through a Traditional Chinese medicine diagnostic lens working with all people and together finding ways to manage symptoms. Symptoms are the connection of what is happening on the inside. We must first understand them, instead of only focusing on making them go away. I incorporate techniques including acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, massage. With 20 years experience, I am able to draw on clinical and life experience to create a space where the body has the opportunity to communicate. We are only as strong as the most vulnerable part of our body.

FAQs

What should I expect from my first session?

Our initial session will be 1.5 hrs.  We will have a comprehensive intake followed by a one hour session. You will be able to experience all techniques and find out which you like and start to understand what your body needs are.

I just had IMS and it was painful. Does acupuncture hurt?

IMS, or intramuscular acupuncture, is a technique used by physiotherapists. It uses trigger points and as the needle wraps connective tissue the sensation can be painful for people. I use acupuncture meridian acupoints to gently simulate areas of the body that are blocked or lacking energy. TCM acupuncture can be a slight dull, nerve or mosquito bite sensation but then it resolves completely. The client rests with he needles in and should have no sensation from the needle itself

My doctor doesn't know what I have? Can you treat me with acupuncture?

So many times I am asked if acupuncture can treat "this or that". My answer is 'we can try'. As an acupuncturist, I am not limited by western diagnosis. I use the same observation and questions for all symptoms. We will gain insight with our TCM lens and understand that your symptoms is a result of the body rebalancing itself.

How many sessions do I need to have?

The body needs regularly cuing to make changes. When a client comes to see me, often time and finances set the course of treatment. I like to work with people with a comprehensive team so that overall well being is always being addressed.
